I was born and raised in Arkansas and was the first person in my family to receive a college degree in 2013 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the Anthropology department. As an undergraduate student under the mentorship of Dr. Sylvia Amsler, I became fascinated with primate behavior. This led me to become an enrichment volunteer for the Little Rock Zoo and attend a field school for the Jane Goodall Institute in South Africa, completing their Chimpanzee Ambassador program during the summer of my senior year. I went on to receive a Master of Science in Human Evolution and Behaviour from University College London in 2015 under the advisal of Dr. Kit Opie and tutelage of Professor Volker Sommer. After returning to Arkansas, I put my degrees to work in jobs within the fields of law, transportation, and archeology until finally returning to academia in 2019 when I accepted a position at the University of Arkansas. My wife, Allie, and I have 2 dogs (Valkyrie and Allen) and 1 cat (Robin). After graduating from UARK, I plan to teach anatomy to future medical professionals.
